About Dave Volsic

David Volsic is an artist whose work has evolved from the pastoral nature surrounding Jackson Hole, Wyoming to the iconic beauty of the Wasatch Mountains and colorful cityscapes of Park City, Utah. In other words, he has lived in some pretty incredible settings to inspire the tricks of his trade. No stranger to the art world, David has spent over 40 years in the advertising industry as a Creative Director, Graphic and Digital Designer. Raised in Jackson Hole, he caught the nature bug early as one of the youngest fly fishing and river guides on the infamous Snake River and is an expert fly fisherman to this day. Those early forays into nature instilled a kinship with the water, studying contrasts and textures of nature and a passion for the outdoors which is evident in his paintings. He earned a BFA in Graphic Design, Fine Art from the University of Utah. He also studied figure painting with Ed Gothberg at Casper Junior College in Wyoming. His work has been honored in over 100 graphic design competitions nationally including the ADDY Awards, Communication Arts, Creativity Regional Emmy Award, International Council of Shopping Centers, MAXI Awards, New York Art Director’s Club, Parents Choice Awards, PRINT Regional Design Annual, Retail Advertising Council Awards, and Shopping Bag Design.  David has been drawing and painting all his life while growing his advertising business. Today, he focuses on his painting and works out of his log cabin studio in Park City, Utah.
